What are the advantages of renting a private villa in Koh Samui?

Our rental rates are extremely attractive when comparing with elsewhere in the world. In other holiday villa locations you will be paying double and sometimes triple for the same quality and service that we can offer you on Koh Samui for your Thailand holiday.
What kind of villas can I choose from?
To maintain a high standard we have intentionally limited the number of villas available in our portfolio. Only a select few villas on Koh Samui meet the high standards required by our guests. Although rates range from US$200 to US$2,000 per day, each single villa has been carefully selected to represent good value.Platinum Villa Rentals does not list low-quality houses or villas. Some of our villas are suitable for large families and groups. Others are much smaller with a charming simplicity and local style - even these are set in beautiful gardens (some) with private swimming pool and surrounded by an abundance of tropical plants and flowers. Even our smallest villas offer all Western amenities and services.
Because Koh Samui is a medium sized island (approximately 21km x 25km) most villas in the Platinum Villa Rentals portfolio are located close to or right on the beach, usually only minutes away from good restaurants and shops.
How do I choose the right villa?
All private villas in Koh Samui have been designed and built according to the taste and requirements of their individual owners. So each is unique and has its own character. Platinum Villa Rentals knows each villa inside out, and we're happy to help you with any inquiry in order to find the 'perfect' villa best suited to you particular needs.
How comfortable are your villas?
All of Platinum Villa Rentals on Koh Samui are designed for life in the tropics. All have spacious, comfortably furnished open-air living and dining areas with plenty of ventilation and cooling facilities. They are all surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Bedrooms are air-conditioned and often have large open-air (but private) bathrooms with plants and flowers.
Kitchens are equipped with a stove, refrigerator, and all the normal cooking utensils together with glasses, knifes and forks, plates, cups, and so on. Each villa is supplied with bed sheets, towels, etc. sufficient for the maximum number of guests. In our "top villas" you'll also find, satellite TV with many international movie and news channels, books on Koh Samui , magazines and games, shampoo, bath gel etc. If required a baby sitter or nanny can be provided (Thais adore children). You may also want to hire an interpreter or guide. Please let us have advance notice iif you desire any of these options.
Tell me more about traveling around Koh Samui.
Platinum Villa Rentals can provide self-drive air-conditioned vehicles (car or 4 wheel drive jeep) for your private use. Tell us when you want to have the car/jeep and we will arrange delivery to your Koh Samui villa. This will be an extra charge.
Small motorcycles can also be hired for a small daily fee. Traveling around Koh Samui is very easy and inexpensive. Transport services are available all around the island such as taxi trucks, taxi cabs, and taxi motorbikes anytime of the day and night.
What other services can I expect from Platinum Villa Rentals?
Before you leave home:
We can tell you what you should bring with you. Supermarkets on Koh Samui nowadays carry a wide range of imported food, beverages, toiletries, etc. If you do have special dietary or other requirements, send us your shopping list in advance so our service personnel can purchase those items before you arrive.
When you arrive:
You'll be greeted at the airport by one of Platinum Villa Rentals' representatives who will escort you to, and show you around your Villa.
If you wish we will arrange for the refrigerator to be stocked with an initial supply of soft drinks, fruit juices, beer, coffee and tea, eggs and bread etc., for your first breakfast. All bathrooms will be supplied with soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Your "Welcome Pack" contains fresh tropical flowers, a current guide book with up-to-date maps and information on Koh Samui.
If you have placed an order for special items to be bought before your arrival, your groceries package will be waiting for you.
During your stay:
If you wish to engage our domestic services, they will take care of all routine chores such as washing dishes, cleaning the premises, changing linen and towels, handling your laundry, maintaining the garden and pool etc.
What about traveling with children?
No problem whatsoever! Koh Samui is a paradise for children, and Thai people adore children. In your villa, in restaurants, and wherever you go, there will always be someone to take care of them.
In supermarkets you can buy anything you need for children including imported baby food.
There is also an international hospital and reliable medical clinics available should you ever need medical advice or attention.
What extras do I pay in a villa?
You pay extra only for international telephone calls and faxes (if there is a telephone line installed), and for the drinks you consume.
The fact is - staying in a villa will save you 60% to 80% on food and beverage expenses compared to staying at a good hotel. All laundry done in-house is free. Dry cleaning is given out and charged at cost.
As a result you'll save about US$40 to US$80 per person per day compared to a good hotel where all 'extras' (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and drinks, mini bar, laundry, telephone, fax, etc. add up quickly.
Travel Insurance:
As deposits and rental payments are not refundable after a reservation has been confirmed, we highly recommend you buy all inclusive travel insurance which will cover all your expenses if you have to cancel your journey, need medical treatment overseas or emergency evacuation, luggage delay or loss, and so on.

All bookings are made with Platinum Villa Rentals acting as agents on behalf of the owners of the properties featured in the Platinum Villa Rentals website or elsewhere. By submitting this booking form it shall be taken as confirmation of acceptance of the following conditions. 1. BOOKINGS
1.1 Provisional Confirmation of Availability and Rates Upon receipt of a request for availability, the applicable Villa rates and the amount of deposit required will be confirmed. Bookings are on a 'first-come, first-served' basis and are for a minimum of three (3) nights. 1.2 Exclusions & Additional Charges
Rates do not include baggage handling, gratuities, telephone, fax and telegram charges, car rental, food, soft drinks and/or liquor, personal items and expenses, and any excessive cleaning required upon departure (such as upholstery or rug shampooing, etc) or replacement of breakages. Fair wear and tear accepted.1.3 Rates Villa rental rates quoted by Platinum Villa Rentals are on a per night basis. Check-in time is after 12:00 PM , with check-out by 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Most villa owners require a 3 night minimum stay and up to two weeks or longer during the Christmas, New Year, Easter or summer holidays.
Rates quoted allow for maximum occupancy of the villa as shown on the web site. Only those persons stipulated on the booking form may reside at the property as guests. Please notify us as soon as possible of any changes. Rates include services of a Platinum Villa Rentals representative to meet guests at the airport in Koh Samui and escort them to their villa; the cost of electricity, water, cleaning and gardening supplies, local taxes, and so on. All villas offered by Platinum Vila Rentals are fully equipped with linen, crockery, utensils, and an initial supply of soap and toiletries. 1.4 Initial Deposit - An initial deposit of 30% of the Villa rental together with the completed Guest Booking Form must be received by Platinum Villa Rentals before a confirmation can be issued. No contract will be issued between Platinum Villa Rentals and yourself until funds have been received and accepted by Platinum Villa Rentals. If funds are not received within 5 banking days the reservation shall be deemed to have been cancelled.
2. PAYMENT
Final payment consisting of the remaining balance must be received by Platinum Villa Rentals at least 30 days prior to guest arrival (or 100% together with the Reservation Form if booked less than 30 days in advance of arrival). Failure to make the final payment on a timely basis will make reservations subject to automatic cancellation. All rates for accommodation on Koh Samui are quoted in US Dollars. If the booking is made within 30 days of the arrival date, 100% of the cost of the Villa rental shall be due at the time of booking.
3. CANCELLATIONS TO RESERVATION
If it becomes necessary to cancel all or any part of the booking, Platinum Villa Rentals must be notified in writing (email acceptable). The cancellation will take effect from the day the written confirmation is received. The following cancellation charges will be payable depending on when the notification of the cancellation is received in writing:
More than 30 days before arrival date:
20% of full price will be non-refundable.Less than 30 days before commencement date of the contract:
50% of the full price becomes non refundable.
Non refundable deposits will be reinstated if a new rental period is secured within three months of original letting date.
The above cancellation charges also apply if Platinum Villa Rentals cancels the booking due to non-payment of the balance.
4. CHANGE OF BOOKING
A US$50 administration fee will be charged by Platinum Villa Rentals for any change of booking after a confirmation has been issued. Acceptance of any change is subject to approval by the villa's owner.
Refund of monies paid for villa rental and services will be made only under the following circumstances: 1.) The villa becomes unfit for habitation and no equivalent replacement villa can be obtained (this qualifies for a 100% refund) 2.) The villa is re-booked by another party for the period of the initial booking. If only a portion of the rental time is re-booked, a pro-rata refund will be made. Any rental payments which qualify for a refund, whether in whole or pro-rata, will be subject to a deduction of a 15% administration fee.
5. ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES
Guests should assume the Check-in time is after 12 noon and checkout time is prior to 12 noon , unless otherwise agreed. Account will be taken where possible of flight arrival/departure times etc.
6. ALTERATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS BY PLATINUM VILLA RENTALS
Though it is unlikely that Platinum Villa Rentals will have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen, and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If, for any reason beyond our control, we are unable to provide you with the Villa booked, Platinum Villa Rentals shall reserve the right to cancel the reservation. For example, if the properties are damaged or rendered unusable Platinum Villa Rentals will endeavor to locate an alternative property for the period required. However, if this is not possible, or you do not wish to be transferred, Platinum Villa Rentals will cancel the booking and refund you in full, less any bank transfer charges. Platinum Villa Rentals shall not be liable for any further obligations or claims by the client.
7. REGISTERED GUESTS
The number of people staying at the property must not exceed the maximum capacity indicated by you in the Platinum Villa Rentals booking form, except in the case of infants (under two years old), or unless specifically authorised. Should the owner or a Platinum Villa Rentals representative find that the number of people staying at the property exceeds that on the booking form, additional guests will be subject to a per person, per day surcharge and may be asked to vacate.
8. SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit may be payable to Platinum Villa Rentals with the payment of the balance. This is to cover the cost of any damage or breakages during the rental period of the Villa. It may also be used to cover the cost of other services. If requested this amount will be returned to you at the time of departure, less any such costs.
9. INSURANCE
It is a condition of the booking that the entire party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damaHVge to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage). Platinum Villa Rentals is not responsible to you and your party for any and all claims including any accidents related to the use of the Villa facilities or locally procured third party services such as, watercraft, water sports, jeep or motorbike rental etc.
As deposits and rental payments are not refundable after a reservation has been confirmed, we highly recommend to buy an all inclusive travel insurance which covers all your expenses if you have to cancel your journey, need medical treatment overseas or emergency evacuation, or extra costs because of luggage delay or loss, etc. Platinum Villa Rentals shall not be responsible for any delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by events outside Platinum Villa Rentals' control such as civil disturbances, fires, floods, severe weather, acts of God, acts of Government etc. By acceptance of this contract it is assumed by Platinum Villa Rentals that this requirement has and will be complied with in full.
10. LIABILITY
Platinum Villa Rentals acts only as agent for the villa owners, suppliers and/or contractors who are providing accommodation, transport, and services. Under no circumstances shall Platinum Villa Rentals be responsible for any loss, expense, damage, claim or injury either directly or indirectly, consequential or otherwise whatsoever, however caused or incurred, whether arising in contract or otherwise in law or equity as a result of rendering of the services or accommodations as described or substituted, or by reason of military action, revolution or acts of God, or by any agents, employees, subcontractors, servants or third parties whatsoever supplying any of the services or accommodations herein or as substituted. If any accommodations and/or services are substituted, Platinum Villa Rentals will act at all times in good faith and use its best efforts to substitute with accommodations and/or services of a type comparable to or better than those originally contracted. Platinum Villa Rentals at their sole and unfettered discretion reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service to any person(s) and/or to rescind any contract for accommodations or guest services.
11. COMPLAINTS
Each Villa is to the same overall standard, quality and finish but there are small differences in style and decor. Each property and the descriptions provided by Platinum Villa Rentals on the website and elsewhere are made in good faith. Platinum Villa Rentals accepts no responsibility for any modifications made which are not mentioned here or anywhere else. Platinum Villa Rentals does not accept responsibility for the breakdown of the supply of water, or electricity, nor of swimming pool filtration systems, though we will use our best endeavors to arrange for any such problems to be solved quickly. If there are any problems during the rental period, which could not be solved by dealing directly with the local staff, contact Platinum Villa Rentals immediately and Platinum Villa Rentals will use its best endeavors to rectify the situation. Platinum Villa Rentals will do as much as can be reasonably expected to avoid and rectify any problems that may occur, but cannot be held responsible for any problems. Any complaints must be notified to Platinum Villa Rentals within 24 hours of the occurrence giving rise to the complaint. Should a problem remain unsolved please make a complaint in writing to Platinum Villa Rentals within 14 days of the completion of the rental period. If the Villa is vacated before the end of the rental period without mutual agreement this may result in the loss of all rights to compensation.
12. CONDUCT & BEHAVIOUR
The person signing the contract is responsible for the correct and appropriate behaviour of the guests staying at the Villa(s). Should any member of the party not behave in such a manner, the owner or Platinum Villa Rentals' representative may at their absolute discretion ask the offending guest or guests to vacate the Villa forthwith.
13. STAFF AT THE VILLAS
The services of some staff are included at the villas. Additional services such as those of cooks and/or drivers can usually be sourced. Please give ample notice as soon as possible; especially at peak holiday seasons and we shall try to assist. Platinum Villa Rentals can assume no liability for such contracted staff. The rates for these services will be provided in advance and shall be paid by you as incurred.
14. LINEN & TOWELS
Linen and towels are included in all Villas. These are normally changed every three (3) days. If you require more frequent changes there may be extra charges. Laundry facilities will be charged on a per item basis. Outside services are also available for a small service charge and must be paid at the time incurred.
15. VALUABLES
Any valuables left at the property are left at one's own risk. Neither Platinum Villa Rentals nor the owners nor the staff are responsible for their loss or damage.
16. AGREEMENT
I/We agree to the above Terms & Conditions. At Platinum Villa Rentals we don't promise anything we can't deliver. And if something should go wrong, we make every effort to put it right immediately!
